Please help: alternator/electrical issues
My corvette is a 1997 with 101000 miles. Recently I had to replace a couple pulleys so my car sat for a week or so. After I replaced the pulleys I drove my car for the first time in a while and noticed my dash was showing I only was running on about 10volts. So I parked it and removed my ignition switch and my alternator. Also got my battery recharged.
I took my alternator to get tested, and it tested bad. I was told it was my regulator. So I was able to buy the regulator and brushes online... I did so and replaced it. I also cleaned up the contacts on my ignition switch. I then took my alternator back up there to get tested again after replacement of the regulator and brushes and it tests good. Now I have everything hooked back up to my car... And I have 3v on the back of my alternator when running. 10.8v on the battery. And 9.7v with a red check gauges light on the dash. I don't know what to do. Please help.
