Thanks Bill, should have said going from the din and a half to a single din. Waiting on a reply back from Dennis @ Double D. Wanting to see some pictures from members that have done this.
I'm still using the Bose system as well. I used pac-roemvet1 to stay with Bose speakers. Sounds good with some fine tuning for sure. I also got a mounting plate from humount as well.

I've got a Sony unit - DSX-S300BTX. What I like is that it has an internal compartment for storing an iPod/other MP3 player or USB drive. Sony calls it the "Tune Tray." I replaced the Bose speakers with some Kickers.
I took this four year old head unit out of my classic tbird before I sold it, and had it installed in the vette.
Kept the bose speakers, and they sound great.
Only thing I needed was an adapter harness which the installer had, and it works great.
I just wanted a head unit to plug my flash drive into, and I am very satisfied.

That is my basic goal to get a better head unit that will accept the flash drive
