[Z06] build dates/vin number Question

build dates/vin number Question
In 2001 when the Z06 was reintroduced and vin numbers were assigned, Ive read that the vin was assigned to each Corvette as they were built and the Z06 did not have a specific set of numbers. Not sure if I am correct but somewhere I saw that 5100045 was the first z produced. I have 5100054 so do I have the 10th Z06 built or only the 54th Corvette for that year? Built on 6/26/2000 Just curious Thanks Paul

The corvette black book says the 2001 cars started at 15100001 and ran to 15135601 it doesn't say anything other than the sixth digit for the hardtop cars is a 1.
5773 hardtops (zo6) were produced, can't give you any more info than I have here.
You might try the corvette museum website I remember seeing a page on the c5 Z, maybe you can pick up a little more info there.

Mine is a Z06 but has x as the check digit which seems different than others in the 9th spot. The first Z06 in 01 was 0045 mine is 54 and was just curious thanks
