Woke up this morning and for the first time in a while I didn't feel like a truck had parked itself on me the night before. Went outside to gather the paper and noticed an absolutely perfect day. Blue clear skies, temperature was 73 with a light wind. As I walked back to the garage my car gleamed in the morning sun, and I knew I had to take advantage of this day. So off I went, breeze in my balding scalp, sun gleaming off my hood, and the great sound of my LS-1. Drove most of the day, really had no destination, just finding roads and exploring them. The entire time I was in a state of bliss, it felt as though it was only me, my Vette, and the open road. As I returned to the barn, I had one of those full circle moments. I pulled next to a school bus, and watched the faces of the children as they gleamed at my car, thumbs up and high fives around. Then, I realized that when I was their age, the exact same thing happened to me. I saw a convertible Vette pull next to our bus and I as well as the other children, gleamed at the car and its driver, gave thumbs up, and high fived one another. I remembered how I wished I was that guy, and that moment passed and I realized that I had finally realized that very dream. Its those moments in life that you realize just how great life can be. I had a great day!
That scenery will help brighten up your day. My brother and I took a motorcycle trip a few years ago and passed through Tombstone and then through Jerome and Sedona on up to the Grand Canyon. That being said......I'm jealous!
Beautiful vert man. I too live in the desert in California though by Edwards A.F.B. Its finally getting warm enough to put the top down and just go out and head nowhere, just drive listening to awesome tunes and the wind through my hair. Maybe this weekend will be time to do just that, You have motivated me now, Thanks. CorvetteBob
