Newbie, with my week and a half old 01Z, silver/chrome.
So as I get to my car with my cart of groceries and pop the trunk open, 2 older gals (60ish?) jump out of their car parked near me. The first question from one of them was, "is this the brand new 2015 model Vette?"
So I chuckled and replied, no mamm, this is an 01 model. They refused to believe me, and jabbered on for a few minutes, and told me it was a total chick mobile.. Haha I almost fell over laughing.
But, my point is that I think the coupe version has a different look that makes it stand out as something different.

better have full exhaust, cause its gonna take a miracle to get the to look away from their FING PHONE!!!!!!
lol
I know this is the truth. Makes me glad I was in my 20s twenty years ago. I would have been so frustrated with girls if they had had smart phones back then. In the 90s you actually picked a girl up and went somewhere to talk or you called them on the home phone. I know this sounds like a "back in my days" speech but it's true! Smart phones have really hurt the ability for this generation to be able to communicate and all I see happening is a lack of ability to be social. Ok rant off...
People frequently ask if I bought mine brand new. Sometimes I just don't even feel like explaining to them that I was 7 when it was built.. Makes me wonder if they think I'm a lot older, or if my car is a lot newer.
I just turned 25 and don't really see it as an issue.
Sent from my smart phone
That's funny right there...and I'm 50...also sent from my smart phone!
Getting ready to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary - married my high school sweetheart and we have each other trained pretty well. She thinks the Z06 is hers and the 82 is mine...all I know is I have two corvettes in the garage!
Back to the OP, glad you are enjoying your Z. IMHO the FRC will continue to define modern Corvettes as the Mid-years (63-67) do their generation.
