HELP WANTED...

Need assistants who will willingly assist in spending copious amounts of hard earned money.

Task: Please identify hazards potentially buying attached vehicle.

References... Well, I have none. 46yo male, never owned a real toy. Wife wants a 911, I don't want the headache (and heartache) of paying Fritz an arm and my first born to fix it. ;-)

Looking for something a "little different"... Something happy on the track and the route to work.

Suggestions and comments most welcome..

I am not sure if the link will work directly. Please cut and paste otherwise.

The car featured in the ad is an auto tranny. If you're intending to track the car, a manual trans might be a better fit.

Better deal--- later model with less mileage and cheaper though it's a convertible.

While it has Lingenfelter upgrades, that car still has 163K Kms on it. For $22K you should be able to find a much lower mileage car. That's what I would look for. You don't say what type of track you are talking about using the car for - autocross or 1/4 mile, but an automatic would work for both.

Excellent catch on the transmission. Perhaps a track with no corners? ;-)

I was concerned about the engine. Have not been able to find any pictures of other Lingenfelter Vettes like this. Perhaps it is a bit of a Frankenstein?

Yes, I should clarify the "track".

Wife and two adult sons want to take some performance driving instruction at Mosport. Doubt we would ever take it for laps. 1/4 mile action has some appeal for me though.

You would need to get the paperwork describing exactly what was done, when it was done and by whom.

Like VJ mentioned --
you can find later models with lower mileage and then do whatever mods you prefer.

I thought all Lingenfelter cars had some sort of extra badging on the cars to signify that it was in fact a real Lingenfelter car..and the car has 101,664 miles on it...which is really not bad..but that intake is sure iteresting

I'm not aware of Lingenfelters ever using the individual throttle bodies, and those individual throttlebodies are notoriously really hard to set up and tune correctly.

Also, the pic shows that it has a regular intake not hooked up? Something fishy about that.

The car does have a lot of really nice mods, and I mean a lot of good mods, but the car does seem to be a bit of a Frankenstein. Unless I saw some receipts, I don't think many or any of those mods were done by Lingenfelter.

You can always contact LPE directly. They have a record of almost every car they converted. The badging was only provided on cars that were modified at LPE facility. None of the satellite shops that installed their products included badging. The straight runner multi port manifold does not feed air through regular air intake and I'm surprised it's left behind. Very sloppy work not at all what you find from LPE. I would run from this car and find something closer to stock especially if it is to be driven regularly.
