I have an 02 MN6 C5 when driving makes a loud rattling, like a coin in a tin can. Happens when I'm accelerating, but goes away in higher rpms. I can also hear it barely when it idles if I put my ear near the exhausts, which are Corsa 2 tip titaniums. Can't figure out what it's coming from.
Check the exhaust shield down the center of the car - -it's a heat shield and it can come loose . . .sometimes a bad cat converter can make a rattling noise under acceleration . . but my bet is a loose piece of shielding.
Yep; loose shielding, converter gone bad (loose pieces inside), front or rear mount (spring mount at rear) assemblies, or depending how loud the infamous H-pipe jingle.
Grab a rubber mallet (or your hand if you have no mallet), and get under your car. Bang on the pipes to try and find the source. Any rattling from the mallet?
Is it most pronounced around 2000 RPM or so? Also on decel at the same RPM?
One exhaust tip is a bit loose however the one that is more firm, when I hit it lightly it makes a similar noise, and the noise is loudest at 2-3k rpm. It sounds like there is a rock in there, but I know thats not the case
IMO eliminate any known sources first; tighten up those tips.
At first I thought the most likely was just the H-pipe, now I'm guessing from your description that a cat is blown. Any chance of recording a video?
Main questions I have; has it always done this, did it just start, was it a sudden change?

I just bought the car, 29k miles. It's always been like that, I thought it was me doing since I was learning how to drive stick shift haha. I'll try to put a video on shortly!
Cross titaniums you say..? Pretty sure those are absolute garbage and you should immediately remove them to avoid damaging your car. I'll gladly... Errr... "Dispose" of them onto my z06 if you want to drop them off at my place.
My exhaust was rattling very slightly on the body where the pipe went over the axle. May want to check there too.

I'll ship em right away, thanks for taking care of those dangerous things for me!

Same exact thing happened to me after installing my x pipe. It was ceramic pieces of the inside of the factory cats that had broken off and rattled their way through the exhaust and out of the tail pipes. I took her out on the interstate and really got on her and noticed the noise had gone away. When I got back home a piece the size of a small rock was sitting inside one one the exhaust tips.

It also sounds like the exhaust noise isn't really getting through. Stepping on the gas, I hear the only the rattling for a few thousand RPMs then I finally hear the exhaust note. Was that your case too?

Identical. I basically had to blow it out by running pretty hard on I-20. For me, it rattled loud in the second gear rpm range.
