Default Bike rack?

I have a bike rack that mounts on trailer hitch on my Tahoe. Very handy and easy to use. Is it possible to put a trailer hitch on my vert so I can take my bike with me on a road trip? I though it was possible, I saw a thread a while back where someone towed a small trailer.

I won't tow anything. I'm not interested in those Rube Goldberg gizmos that sits on the trunk lid with the straps to tie it down and scratch up the car.

I did it last year - here's a thread discussing it. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...h-on-a-c5.html

Pic links in original thread are broken - I moved the pics so here they are:

The hitch is a Curtis hitch. It attaches with four bolts into the frame - you will have to drill and use some fish-wires (provided with the hitch) to pull mounting bolts through. I cheated and only did two bolts since this will not be used for towing, just for a bike rack. The two I did were along the rear cross piece, just above the exhaust tips. It is possible to disconnect the exhaust hangers and push the exhaust out of the way to get to these two spots. To do the other two, which are along the frame rails, you will need to remove the exhaust over-axle pipes/muffler/tips, which requires getting the car high enough to wiggle them out. Again, no towing, so I think the two bolts are enough.

The seller threw in a chromed hitch cover that is the perfect size for a C5 logo decal (the ones they sell for wheels). No pic of that yet and I am not going out to the garage in this cold to get a pic.

Good luck and happy driving and cycling!

That looks like a good setup. I'm assuming that you didn't lose any ground clearance, since it is attached above the tailpipes.

To have any issues getting the cross pin through hitch? It looks like there isn't much room to work with.
