I have a 99 coupe mag red with 18/19 chrome wheels. This a great ridding and driving Vette. In fact probably the best all around vette I have had. very smooth with out a bunch of rattles etc. Just thinking abut a C6 2008 or newer. I will post some pic when I get the new drilled and slotted rotors and stainless lines. So feel free to chime in.

My question is why do more mods if you are thinking about selling the car?
The C6 with an LS3 is a nice car, but the question you asked is one only you can answer. You don't give us many details on your current car (miles, mods, etc.).
Best way to find out is to drive one. I have an 03 Z06. I drove my brothers 2013 GS and found I like mine just as much or better. I also like not having the payments he does.
At this time of my life, I like the C5. If I want more power, I'll consider mods rather than buy something different. It all depends on your financial situation and your wants / desires.

I have a 99 frc and the only way I would consider a c6 would either be for a z06 or a grandsport. A C6 with a widebody may persuade me also. Regular C6 models just don't do it for me.

lucky99, you have a hard decision to make. A number of C5 owners have gone through this evaluation. Some buy the C6, some don't. It's not a slam dunk easy decision. I went through it and procrastinated enough that the C6 sold to someone else and I lost interest.
Here are some thoughts.
VettemanJack made a post when I was searching that I'll repeat here. The C6 is really more of a C5.5. By now you've probably noticed how similar the two cars are.
On the plus side, here's some improvements that are worth noting:
1. All parts are still available from the factory, the '08 is substantially the same as a '13.
2. You can certainly feel the difference with an LS3, 430HP over the LS1.
3. If you have an auto tranny the A6 is a big improvement over the A4.
4. The electronics are a definite upgrade over the C5.
But, it's gonna cost you anywhere from $15K to $20K to make the move from a 99 C5.
Hope this helps.
Sell it and get your C6. Although we all know the C5 is the most beautiful car on the planet, it is getting very old. If you really want a C6 go for it and don't look back.
With the cost of the C6-Z's dropping I'd have think long and hard, we all love our C5's and in an ideal situation I'd want to keep my current ride AND buy another, but if it were me it could only be an ls7 Z or wide body.

I love not having a car note, and spend my money on guns, ammo, and car parts. Not interested in being held back by a car note any longer. However that being said if YOU have that overwhelming desire to get a c6,7,8 just do it.
Be Happy!

I would say.....how important is a C6 to you, how is your budget for buying and how important is this C5 to you? First.....a regular C6 doesn't move me. A C6Z does move me. I had one and really liked it. Great car....but very pricey compared to the value you have in a C5. So...I would say it's all about what you will enjoy and your budget. The C6 is a little more "plush" and not as much driver feedback as the C5....but not enough for me not to enjoy owning a C6Z
