For those who are planning to do Silicone hoses, found a great source for Silicone hose clamps, that don't extrude the Silicone through the opening for the screw thread, CapHardwareSupply.com they carry NORMA TORRO clamps and they are reasonable.

They also expand and contract slightly with temp changes. Superior to screw clamps. I prefer either the spring type, or the Gates Power Grip SB clamps for the heater hoses as well.

I have the silicone hoses on my car, and the Gates clamps as well. I like the Gates clamps, except for one thing...if, by some chance, you need to remove the hose, getting the "clamp" off is very tricky.

True story.
Best bet is to just go ahead and get the removal tool. No hose damage risk.

Otherwise, I use a small flat blade screwdriver and get it started under the edge and while keeping some pressure on it, I use a single sided razor blade to cut the clamp, while moving the screwdriver along, in effect using it as a "back up".

That's what I figured, so I bought the tool, when I bought the silicone hoses and Gates clamps. However, a year or two later, I had to remove the lower radiator hose from the water pump, and found the tool is too bulky to get in there!

I hear ya on the limited room, that's why I still use the OE spring clamps on the radiator hoses. Of course I don't have silicone hoses either, so.
