Default C7 Wheels on C5 Base model

Hi everyone

I'm starting a new thread to provide some information and share my experience with c7 wheels.

Long story short, I was on the market for a new set of wheels and found a killer deal on c7 wheels with OEM tire that only had 5K miles. So here is what I had to do:

The front wheels fit the car perfect. They stick out about .200" further than the OEM wheels, but they are still inside the wheel well. The rears require a 3/4" to a 1" spacers. I ordered 1" spacers since they were easier to find and the entire package sits about 1/8" pass the fender. To me it still looks good but a 3/4" spacer may work better for anyone looking to keep the wheels inside. Look at the pic below for a better reference. I hope this helps.

I think the car hasn't settled in yet and I'm not driving it in this weather.

Rear With 1" spacer

Front. Look at all the clearance between the wheel and the break caliper.

I'm just not feeling the silver on silver, somehow. If they were gun metal grey they would look fantastic.

I like the silver on silver, but I agree with you with the gun metal, that would look fantastic. On the second hand, to me it looks better than black c6 replicas

Sidebar question - will C5 tires and wheels work in a base C7 nonz51? I have winter tires and if I ever get a C7 will the fronts clear the calipers being 17"? Photos show maybe enough clearance but not sure.....

What length studs did you have to use with the spacers and where did you get them?

Just looking at your pics (#4) and assuming that maybe your project is still not completed. Reason being the obvious, you are needing to paint the spacer and all the rotor caps to blend visually. Jus' say'n !! The wheels look good.

I'm using the OEM studs. It worked fine. I may have an issue when I switch to 20mm spacers. I have a grinder for that.

Yes, your assumption is on the right track. I'm not feeling the way the wheels are sticking out so I ordered 20mm spacers (.780" thick). The spacers I ordered are anodized black so it will look a lot better.

Here is an update. I replaced the rear 1" spacers with 3/4 and it works a lot better. Pics do no justice. I had to shorten the wheelstuds but That did not affect the grip.

Those look great... glad you blacked out the rotors, makes them sorta disappear. Nice!

I think they look great on your car! But, those C7 caps absolutely have to go.
