Just curious what a decent set of stock rims goes for when selling. I don't want to screw the guy, nor do I want to get shorted on them, thanks
I have been considering the same thing. After a fair time following posts in the For Sale section I think:
In perfect condition with center caps and lug nuts, $675 picked up and $925 shipped.
Shipping charges for around 85 pounds in 4 boxes are healthy.
Reduce price for blemishes and curb rash.

I was assuming Speedlines - what is your opinion regarding each?
I think the Alcoas are worth more - forged versus spuncast. It's a rarer wheel than the Speedlines. Forged should at least theoretically be a stronger wheel. If you wanted to strip and polish, the Alcoas will shine up better IMO. The Alcoas do weigh a few ounces more, which for 99.999% of us won't matter.

sales history has shown no real measurable value difference
to the buyer you may find some but buyers also want to bargain
would be difficult to argue a close above market value for an 01 wheel
have been that price for awhile now, i sold a set in 2008 for this....today, roughly the same
tires under 3-4 years old add value to some degree, tires above 4 years old are worthless but someone might pay more even still
so shipping is not an option as I am in Hawaii, plus it is a local sale. The tires have been on eh car for a year, but are pretty worn from autoxing. the guy isn't using them to drive I think, just want them for a mocl-up of some sort. Not sure though.
Oh ok, I didn't know that. Car is an '03. Is there somewhere I can look to verify the rims?
If the rims are Speedlines, I believe this will be marked as such on the backside of a spoke. IIRC, the Alcoas just had a "GM" marking on the backside of a spoke. I would anticipate finding Speedlines on an '03.

Correct. I have an '01 and they only have "GM" stamped inside. I also have a pair of 10.5" Speedline rears for the track and they have "Speedline" stamped inside.
Used stock rims were more in demand when folks tracking their cars needed track rims or autocrossers were looking for an extra set of stock rims to run in the stock classes.
As time has gone on the availability of good rubber in the 17 inch size has gone away, and in the stock classes autocrossers are going to 18/19 or 18/18 inch setups. As a result stock rims aren't worth as much as they used to be.
JMHO, but there isn't as much demand out there for stock Z rims so price them accordingly.
