Z06 vents - Advice needed

Received my Oem Z06 vents, from Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton.

Started to make a template for the cutting, but when I looked at the vents, they where gaping, and in very bad shape (melting production error according to me).

Wrote to the dealer 'Jim Butler', if they could send me 2 new vents (pictures attached), and the response was 'I have more in stock but they all look exactly like the pictures. If you don't like the product please return it with the boxes and we can issue a refund.'

I live in Denmark, and shipping is very expensive, to the US.
So all new vents look this (total unusable) ??

What would you do ?

They aern't melting. That is how the are put together. You won't have any problems with them.

Roll with it. That will never be seen once mounted.

Also you can print the template off here and save you some time on making one. Quick search will pull up the old DIY thread.

It's not how they look, it's they are gaping (2 plastic layers not sticking together). When mounted on the car, they will gap.

Clean up the part that is sticking up with a dremel. Should mount flush then.

you can try to use a plastic epoxy of some sort glue them and clamp them to make that area bond to the base again ...
