Default mouldy seatbelts

Took the winter cover off yesterday opened the driver door and lo and behold the lower portion of my seatbelt was covered in thick mould. This has never happened before.

Anyone have any ideas??

Was it stored inside? Sounds like you have a moisture problem. Are the carpets dry?

I put a pail of this in mine when I put it away for the winter.

Have you tried cleaning the belt? I would use a interior cleaner and some smell good. Let it dry before you do the smell good stuff.

Driven hard and put up wet?

Scrub the belt with soap and water.
Then ENSURE the belt is completely dry before letting it retract into the reel.

A little chlorine bleach added to the soap and water will kill the mold. Make sure you color test it first.
