Default Refurbished and polished wheels

Went to my local tire store and bought some new shoes for my 2003 yellow vert. To my surprise they hung ugly lead weight to the outside of the rims. he scars left in the chrome drove me nuts and I decided to have a local speed shop dismount the tires, have the wheels polished, install 4 new Smart Sensor Pro TPMS and balance with weights on the inside. They came out great. Never again do I go to a retail tire store.

I is probably a reaction of someone **** retentive but those marks on my wheels drove me nuts and I decided to pull the plug and fix them. Now the wheels are like mirrors. Originally the wheels were off for a new clutch, master slave, shocks, Corsa Extreme exhaust and Hinson Urethane engine and transmission mounts. Funny how things happen.

That's how my wheels came from the factory!! Lead weights on the outside.

I bought new tires and the weights were moved to the inside.

Small mark left behind, not happy about it, but if that's the worst thing that happens I'll be just fine!

So, you didn't tell them how you wanted the balance to be done?

That is the type of marks I had. Like a pimple on a teen agers face, not that big a deal but to the teenager it was analogous to looking like the elephant man.

Those wheels look awesome. One question, did you have the clear coat re-applied or are you planning on polishing at some regular interval?

Jimbo, The wheels look AWSOME! Especially the barrels. I wish I could find a shop around here to re-polish my thin spokes. Although my car lives in a heated garage and isn't driven in crap weather, the barrels are showing their 11 year old age, some pitting etc.
Do you have before & after pictures of the wheels?

MC

Same driving conditions here. No before pictures but I also had some pitting, it was the weight marks that drove me nuts. The shop in St. Louis did a great job and they look like mirrors. I also used a different TPMS then OEM and there is an option for chrome valve stems. Real nice.
