Leland West. They have agreed upon value policies with whatever mileage you want (up to unlimited). Cost about the same as my regular insurance but with much better benefits.

Called them yesterday. You need to keep it in a garage.
NCM fit the bill for most of us. No errands tho. But every time I get close to getting ins its always something . Now it has to be in a garage every night.
They all understand certain things that may break policy until they have to pay. Anyone have without the garage restriction ?
I thought you could add an option to not have to keep it in a garage.
I am in the EXACT same boat. My C5 will never be a daily driver, but what if I want to take it out on a drive on a sunny Sunday to circulate the fluids, and happen to stop at the store and dinner on the way home?
I guess my thoughts, if I can drive it to work. And I can drive it to the store if I'm coming home from a show or pleasure cruise. Why can't I take it directly to the store? Again, this is all assuming I don't go over the mileage and I'm not doing it very often.

Tell me, how would they know whether or not you purposely drove it to the store as an errand, or if while out on a leisurely cruise you got thirsty & decided to make a quick stop for a soft drink & a bag of chips?

Hello all, thanks for the great comments!
Couple of items to clear up.
1: Going to car shows and staying at hotels: It is ABSOULTLY covered. Seems silly to think that carriers would say it wasn't. This is a BIG part of owning these cars. Remember, we are the National Corvette Museum....We host and participate in MANY events.
2: Going to dinner: 100% A-OK!
3: Going to the store to pick up milk: Not covered. You wont find any collector car insurance that covers errands.
Let us know if you have any questions directly. info@ncminsurance.com or 877.678.7626

why do any of you have insurance with restrictions? my reg insurance has none and is only $275 a year, the cheapest of all my vehicles. but then I don`t have a lot of mods and they came with the car.

I was thinking the same thing, I have full coverage on my 97 with no restrictions including towing and only pay about $325 a year.

Why, State Farm and Hagerty are almost identical in price for me. State Farm you will get value of car, and all Mods are worth pennies to them. So for instance if you spent $5k on wheels well they lose value as time goes on. So even if my wheels are 4 years old, but only have 2,ooo miles on them and look new their worth crap to them. But collector car insurance such as what I have Hagerty you are stating your value. My O4 Z has a stated value of $54k, every mod I purchased is valued still for what I paid for them.

You get the value of the car - that they feel is the value.
What Dave said, plus there are other smaller benefits. Again, similar cost to my regular policy, but $0 deductible, agreed upon value, and some other goodies. Worth the extra $40 a year it costs me.

That $54k is what I requested and received. I had all receipts for mods done, then I took off some value, and then car was valued at the time in 2012. Either way it's the only way to go. And the best and most important fact at least with Hagerty, 100% OEM parts only used down to the windshield, and they pay a nice shop rate of $75 a hour which in insurance is good.
All this specialized insurance stuff is interesting, but we have multiple vehicles - and the Vette is not the most expensive part of our existing multi-car policy. Separating it out and having all kinds of exclusions just makes no sense at all.
My Corvette is the cheapest one on my policy, and I just have storage insurance on from Oct 1 to April 1. I do have to call to add or remove coverage every time. No big deal to me. I want to be able to drive it anywhere I please during the summer, and I do so.
A couple things Haggerty doesn't tell you, if you belong to a car club, you can get 5% off your payment. If you added like lo-jack, you get another 10% off your payment.

All collector car insurance companies will not insure errands. With us you have Agreed Value protection, and not Actual Cash Value (Book Value at time of loss).
