After driving other Vettes with runflats, I would never have them on mine. To each their own.
It's "their", not "there". It's best to give the OP all opinions so he can decide for himself.
All you have done through this whole tread is make negative comments about run flats. So give the op something positive about the tires you use, So he can decide for himself!!!

The only positive thing about runflats is you can drive on them if they lose air. That's it. What else is there?
My Bridgestones are smooth, quiet, grip great, have great wear and improve the Corvette driving experience.
I am one of those that has never had run-flats... I thought I did, the brand new Goodyear F1 Eagles the dealership put on were terribly loud...clickety clack, clickety clack, so, when I bought a used set of Cray Scorpions that already had some Nitto tires I was impressed they were so much quieter and smoother... So, I can only imagine how noisy run flats must be if they are in fact worse than brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season Tire NON run flats

The goodyear run flats that these cars came with are terrible. And if they were the only runflat that you have experience with then i can understand your grief. But until you have a car with the Michelin runflats and see the difference, you do not know how much improved they are.

We all have our reasons for what we do with our cars, and there is no right or wrong as far as i am concerned. I choose to pay what it cost to buy run flats, And in my case a high quality tire in the Michelin. Just like most of us on here we don't like to be told what to do. I truly don't fell like I'm missing out on what you guys say I'm miss out on. For how i use my car i feel that the tire i have is right for me. So when I say I have run flats on this forum i better duck because the haters are on attack. I have an opinion that is as real as anyone else's opinion. I can understand your reason for what you do just respect mine as well. Thanks

This really isn't about you. It's about the pros and cons of runflats and non runflats. No one cares what tires you use.
I run run flats. Why? I drive on busy highways with a documented history of people who stop on the shoulder getting wiped out by drunks or sleepy truckers. I use Michelin A/S. Why? I drive my car all year round in all weathers except significant snow on the ground.
If your car is a weekend toy or a "cruise" queen, and you don't mind taking the risk of being parked on the side of the road with a flat, by all means fit non run flats. The only way I personally would run them is if I carried a spare and a jack. At least my stop on the side of the highway would be brief. As to the Z06 and its "emergency kit" - I would not bet my life on it. Would you?
And, BTW, I don't see why my roadside insurance premium should be pushed up to cover people who think it's OK to call the roadside insurance company because they have a flat.
Having PO'd everybody. I will move one.........

What's the worst part of town near Lincolnton N.C.? Let's be realistic here gentlemen.
You carry a cell phone, yes? Get AAA, non runflat tires and be hundreds of dollars ahead of the game, and with that you also get a the benefits of better ride, less noise, and far more tire options.

Tell me again how you don't care what tire I use!! Until the next time. You have the last work, as always!!!
I don't even know who the hell you are. Why would I care? The truth is, nobody cares. Why do you even participate in these threads? Do you want everyone to agree with you?
I love a spirited discussion . . . I know we are very passionate about our cars and how we maintain them so I can appreciate every opinion. This does give me a lot of things to ponder because they're good points on both sides. I currently have the Michelin pilot A/S ZP's on it and don't think they're noisy or ride bad, the car behaves pretty well. I will say I am a fan of the Michelins, run flat or not . .

I opted to go with non-runflats and carry a plug kit and small compressor in the car. I am running a set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires on the car and really like them. Price is very good and they handle well, the ride is smooth and I get plenty of traction from them.
