I'm looking to get into my first Vette, specifically a c5. I'm looking at a 2000 with around 65k miles, 6 speed and fully stock, it has 4 owners with service records from owners 3 and 4(~20k miles), do you guys think 15k is a fair price? I'm located in southern florida if location effects the price of these cars. I'd also greatly appreciate if someone could send me a checklist as well as common issues and things to look out for, thank you.
Good luck with your search. Assuming the car is in very good condition, never been in an accident and so on, the $15K price is about right. Be sure to have the car checked out by a garage that knows Corvettes. Also, review the thread on buying a C5 already provided in the earlier posts. BTW, the C5 is a good choice, best bang for the buck Corvette.

My advice is, after reading the thread mentioned above, take your time and don't just jump into buying a used car. There are plenty of C5 out there for sale and many are in excellent shape. If you are not familiar with a Corvette, it is advisable to get a trusted mechanic to look over the car for you - it could be money very well spent.
Good luck and I hope you find the perfect car for you.
IMHO it's never not ok or unreasonable, to make an offer... the least they can do is say nooo way. No harm done. Just say, I was wondering if you would be willing to take......$$
Always negotiate the offer that is best for you. If you are prepared to walk away, you will almost always get a better deal. You don’t need to buy a Corvette, you want one.
