03 seems to be having issues.
I drive my C5 daily for a week, then let it sit for 2 weeks. Starting a few months ago, the battery would go dead during that period. I got a nice trickle charger and now put that on foe several days before I am going to drive it.
Drove to work and back today, 30 min highway speed each way. Got home and we went out to dinner. Noticed the "security" light was on for the entire 10 minute trip. After dinner, started up and headed for another stop. Security light is not on. At the second stop car would not start. I had tried to start it without my foot on the break, then realized that and put the break on and same thing. It made no sound. Tried lights and they came on. Still no start. Call AAA. While wife is calling I stomp on the pedal hard about four times. Put the key back in and it starts.
Left it outside incase it will not start tomorrow. The battery is a red top about 10 years old. Going to get a new one tomorrow and eliminate that.
Anyone know why the security light would have been on on the way to dinner? Does the brake switch cause a problem so that the ignition does not know your foot is on the brake?

Just a thought but try cleaning the resistor pellet on the key. If it is dirty, it can cause problems with starting the car.
