Default thermostat

Hi, new member, new to corvettes. Does the thermostat separate from the housing or is it one piece. Need to replace mine. 99 coupe.
Thanks for the help and glad to have found this forum.

Default thermostat

Not sure, took it off and was going to see if it was one unit or separate. Either it is stuck in the housing or is a one piece unit. Do the thermostats that are sold with the housing separate?

Default thermostat

Tried to take mine apart and wouldn't budge. Car today started to go over 220 and never goes above 195-200. Nothing blocking the radiator
so I was trying to see if it was the thermostat that was bad by removing it to see if it would still raise temps above 220 with the fans running. Thanks for the help.

The fans are programed to come on at 235. If you are running the AC the fans are running all the time and won't run that hot.

My fans were programmed to come on at 195-200 by my tuner. The fans come on right in that area but the temp keeps on climbing. He is a friend but his shop is 35 miles away. Normally it will run 180-190 and the fans hardly ever come on. Trying to figure out why the sudden change when the car was in its normal temp range this morning after going to the store, then when I started it up to go to work, the temp started going up beyond normal.
Thanks for the help.

97-03 are one piece
04 is separate

last summer I ordered a one piece 160 for my 01 it would not fit and I thought I received the wrong one..however it was my water pump that was changed to the 04 style sometime and I then ordered the separate one which was a few bucks cheaper so I know that I have a newer water pump so it was a win win
