For what it's worth I just purchased and installed LED backups on my C5. very pleased with the results. Bright as day back there now!!

On Ebay I purchased 2 - 1400 Lumens (each) 1157 High Power 2538 Chip LED White Turn Signal Brake Light Bulbs. The seller was DT-autotech. This is not a promo - I'm in no way associated with them. I only paid a little over $18.00 for both and they work extremely well.

There may be brighter lights to be had but I think this combination of price and performance will be hard to beat.

I installed led's from corvettemods and am pleased with them although I rarely drive at night.

 

I need to get a set of those bulbs for my car. Extra light when backing would come in handy.

Installed reverse lights as well. Took pics and links to where i bought them from

 

When I decided to do LED lighting upgrades, I was more impressed with the upgrade to my reverse/back-up lights than any of the others. It really makes you realize what you take for granted until you do this change, I had a elevated driveway that was 110 ft. long with two twists/turns and 90% of the time I backed down. At night with the first time backing down after the bulb change I was stoked, I could see what a 'huge' difference it was, I now tell everyone to at least do that bulb change.
