I appreciate the advice from all of you. It makes sense and I'll use it as a general guideline. I'm having fun already. It's 75 degrees out and I took it out after lunch and back to work with the top down.

As a general rule of thumb, non-risky mods as described above probably won't help the resale value but they won't hurt either. All others will hurt.

The C5 is not a collectible, it is a mass-produced car.

The C5 is never going to be a collector car because so many were made. Its going to keep going down in value every year. To worry about devaluing it is not energy well spent. Do the mods you want because at the end of the day you will never increase or even hold the value of the car. This isn't a split window stingray.

On the other hand your sense of greater wealth however ill-founded being important is sort of disturbing in itself. I'm not too worried about folks having more or less than myself. I haven't found it to be a meaningful measure of character.

Regards,
You are way too sensitive if my post made you take it personal. Perhaps this may not be an appropriate forum for you, If you took a shot at me by your response....that's fine.

You'd better suit up and be ready to use your wit quite frequently.

P.S. Not every response is a personal jab....learn early, or get a thicker skin.

Let me try this... Did you buy the car for yourself or the next guy???

If you are worried about the next guy, save it for sunny days, drive it carefully and never get it out in the rain!

If you bought for yourself, mod what you want and drive the hell out of it!
