The '03 stock exhaust looks like the '02, but I think mine is deeper sounding than the '02's. Maybe its just my imagination, or maybe it will change with more miles.
Do yourself a favor and check out the GHL system from LAPD. Do a search to see some comments from people who have installed them (myself included). There is also a thread with sound files of both the GHL and the Stingers. I thought my stock system was good, but I wanted a deeper, throatier sound with no resonance...GHL was the ticket. Very pleased with it and I get so many positive comments about it when people hear it.
I have Corsa Indies on my '02 Zee, and love the sound! When driving nice and easy, they sound relatively quiet...BUT, when you get on the pedal....LOOK OUT! :smash: People turn heads, kids give you thumbs up, and grandma runs for safety!
Friends even ask me to start the car up at shows to let their friends hear 'em!
I picked up my 03 Z06 about a week ago.:) The stock exhaust does sound a lot better than my stock 01 coupe. However, I like a more aggressive sounding exhaust. Since I had removed my PRT's off my coupe before I traded it. I had them installed this past weekend and they ROCK. They sound much better than the stock Z06 system. However, the resonance around 1300 to 1600 RPM's is slightly worse than in my coupe, but not too bad. Overall I am very satisfied with the sound of the PRT’s.

Why not put some long tube headers on it? That way you get a better sound and more power. I think that is my plan. I want to hear how it sounds with the headers before making it louder yet with an exhaust system.
I can't imagine why anyone would dump the very trick, very aggressive, very lightweight stock system for a mundane aftermarket system like every other Vette out there has.
Just wait until you look at the bottoms of your mufflers and see the word *titanium* embossed into the metal. I'll bet you didn't know that!! Yeah, baby!!
Keep stock.
Titanium does not rust ,when it oxidizes it only gets better. Why would you want to pay for a exhaust system twice? It only weighs 13 pounds. :blueangel:
I like my stock system. It sounds great, its light weight, and best of all it is all ready there. Good luck with your beast :D
I notice everyone talks about louder or lighter but how good does it work, is it as or does it flow better or worse. Does the 13lb stock sys restrict flow or the flow that is not held back by cats. I think the cats probablly hold up more flow than the mufflers. A test on my GN results little or no gain with no muffler but .3 in 1/4 mile with muffs on and cat off.

Well, when I first got the car, told myself that the Ti would be good enough. I REALLY liked the sound when compared to other systems. Mean when I got on it, and just a little rumble when driving normal. After 9 months, I'm starting to develop "tolerance" to the stock sound, and am wanting for more! Kinda like getting addicted to a drug. :D I'm leaning towards the GHL system. Love the Stinger but HATE the 2 tips, GHL has 4 4" tips, AWESOME! Need to hear it person first though.
stock is fine, but I felt inadequate with mods. If the car remains stock OEM exhaust works well, sounds nice, is lightweight , and unique. That said , B&B PRTs with Speedway tips RULE.
Stock sounds Perfect :yesnod: I got a Borla exhaust for my 300Z and it made the car to loud.....never going to change exhaust again unless I start going crazy for mods.
