Well finally got a good chance to try on a c7 this weekend and found out real quick I will never be able to enjoy one.....6' 8" / 270 will not fit very well into the driving position......I will spend the rest of my corvette experience in the "spacious" c5 ......thanks c5 design team for giving us tall guys a chance to be part of the fun!
When I decided to pass on the C6 that was exactly what I wanted in a C6 last November, that opened the door to consider a C7. My problem is, I made some changes to the C5 and now like it even more than before. I really think a C7 will be in my garage some day, but I'm just not ready to part with the C5.
I'm 6'5" 230, and I was elated when I got the chance to drive a C7. I bought my C5 just a few months prior, and was nervous that I was going to regret it. All I had to do was try to fit in the C7 to realize that the C5 is much better for us big guys. The C7 drove incredibly well, and I'll probably own one when my C5 is done (if that can happen), but it's amazing how much more open the C5 feels. My wife even said she prefers my C5 to the C7 because it feels much more open inside.

I have no problems fitting in the C7 as I'm only 6' and 210 lbs, but the C5 does seem more spacious to me. You have to go with whatever feels the best - no use being uncomfortable when behind the wheel.
Ok, still haven't gotten an answer to this question, but I'll keep trying:
C7 is 2" longer wheelbase, same width, and an inch taller than the C5...where the hell did the interior space go?!?

I am 6'1" 160 lbs. and find the the C5 tight. Can't imagine
how you fit in one.
Also 6'8" 270# and I could not fight in the c7 haha! I modded some seat rails on the c5 to give me a ton of room I wonder if there is a different seat you could put in or mod it somehow?

Styling. Form over function, as I recall is the correct terminology.
Pity it's not as good looking as the C5 either - but that's just my opinion.

I think I remember reading about a seat rail modification (and I'm sure I can look it up), but since we are on the subject, how did you do your mod? Also I would be willing to bet someone will figure out how to mod a c7 seat setup because where there's a will there's a way!
Love the interior layout and materials in general, but that is about all that intrigues me about the C7. The exterior got old real fast (just like the Camaro - first one looked kind of different, 2nd one... not so much). I have had several C7s pull up next to me in my C5 without even noticing what they are, but I can spot a C5 a mile away out of the corner of my eye without trying.
The C7 looks pretty good on the showroom floor, but I barely notice them on the street.

Right. Compared to the C5, the console is massive in the C7, the door panels cut in farther, the dash comes much closer to the driver, and drops much lower, taking away legroom.

I started by putting my seat on manual rails. That gained me a good half inch or so of headroom, and stiffened the seat up immensely. From there, I removed all the springs in the back of the seat bottom, which when combined with the manual rails, gets your butt essentially on the floor.

Seems you're in the minority. I've had my c7 for exactly one year, and it gets every bit as much attention as the first day I drove it. It's kind of an odd feeling, actually. The c4, 5 and 6s I had when they were the new model never attracted the amount of attention.
As for the interior room, I don't get it. I have a c5 as well as my c7, and I don't feel "tighter" in the c7. I've seen alot of guys post about it, so perhaps it's a height issue that makes it feel more cramped? There are numerous posts in c7 gen about ways to adjust the seat so that you have more room.

Thanks, that's the first explanation I've heard that makes sense.
(Haven't gotten a ride in one yet.)
