I have a beltronics radar and I wanted to hardwire it to my fuse box. I saw the other thread of how they did it with the V1. The beltonics power cord is the same as phone line. I found long black phone line that I wanted to use but when I stripped the coating it was two VERY thing yellow and green wires. Im stuck from her and need to be pointed in the right direction.
The only advise I can offer is that if, I owned an early model C5 I would be extra super careful about doing any wiring... I know some of it is seems very simple but, I would check with one of the corvette forum electronic guru's before doing any wiring... just sayin.

As you may have noticed I just joined today LOL. Just got the car last week. How do I get in contact with such a guru? thanks for the quick reply
Actually thats what it said in another thread so I gave it a shot. People spend all kinds of money buying a wire with a fuse and ground on the end for their radar. I did mine for nothing by splicing a phone line into the accessory wires.
On the 97 through 2003 C5's there are some factory provided wires in the passenger foot well behind the toe kick and just to the left of the BCM (large silver box) that were intended for aftermarket accessories that the owner might want to add. There should be 3 wires that are blunt cut and then wrapped with electrical tape and then tucked into the wiring near the BCM. The black is ground and the orange is an unswitched 12 volt source fused by fuse #7 in the fuse box to the right of the BCM. The yellow is a switched 12 source fused by fuse #11 in that same fuse box.
Unless a previous owner has already tapped into these wires there are no other electrical devices on the fuses mentioned.
You know how many times I have been in that area to do electrical crap taping into this and that. I was like BS so I went and checked and sure enough there they are I didnt know that Here I thought i knew pretty much everything on this car since U have taken it apart
