I just purchased a set of wheels for my c5z. 18x8.5 fronts 18x10.5 in back
I want to make sure I get proper fitment for tires. What size would you guys reccomend for the fronts. I'm going with a 305/40 nitto nto5r in the rear
I don't see a 305/40-18 available in the NT05R tires... I do see a 305/45-18 which has an overall diameter of 28.9". If you pair that with the 275/40-18 which has an overall diameter of 26.8" for the front then the TC is highly unlikey to ever activate if it were needed. 2+ inch delta between the front and rear tire diameters just about insures TC will not ever come into play. As long as that is not an issue for you go for it...
Good call.
Nitto makes NT555 and NT555r tires in Z06 sizes (305/40/18 and 275/40/17). I'm running this combo on my car and really like it. Good traction and good handling/street characteristics. They drive just fine in the rain too as long as you're not stupid.
The NT555 tire line is pretty similar to the NT05s, but will probably have better wet traction and maybe a hair less dry traction. You'll have plenty of traction unless you're at or above the ~600hp area.
