Default Elite Engineering heel-toe pedal install question

I went to install these today and the pedal "tension spring arm" doesn't seem to align with the groove on the backside of the pedal where it's supposed to sit. For those who have installed these... am I missing something here / does everything look right?

Thanks

Yours looks almost "right" to me, too. I'm just back from inspecting my own installation. I'm doing this with a mirror, a magnifying glass (damn bifocular vision), and a flashlight--but it sure looks to me like I forced a slight "lean" into the wire to get it to fit in the slot. I can see where the long wire takes a slow gradual curve to go from the "spring" windings to align within the slot.

I don't remember tweaking the arm with pliers or anything (and it doesn't look like the spring is bent additionally beyond the OEM), I just think I force-fitted it and that tension holds it in place entirely within the slotted area once the pin is set.

Looks like on the C6 where the pedal arm is much more narrow and the groove in the bolt is in a different place, everything lines up like it should.

At the end of the day it will probably work OK as-is. I may grind down some raised portions of the backside, so the spring can at least lay flat across it. I guess I am just a bit annoyed that something so simple isn't done correctly....and this thing isn't exactly cheap for a piece of aluminum.

I thought of an easier and much more obvious solution... just bent the spring a little. Recommend you guys doing future installs check this out to make sure the spring does not pop off like mine was.

I hate to bring up an old thread but I didn't think I needed to start a new one. I've been having the same issues with the EE pedal and I'm quickly losing patience. The spring pops off after every drive. It looks to me that the pedal was primarily designed for a C6 based on the orientation of the slot in the back. I think that EE should have stepped up and done something about this by now.

Anyway, I will try putting a slight bend on the spring like you did. Hopefully this will fix my problem. I also thought about adding extra washer to make the pedal more snug and keep it from flopping side to side when the spring pops off. But I think the easiest solution right now is tweaking the spring. Thanks
