So i've searched online and most bypass info is for the C3 and C4. I pulled both lines from the firewall that lead to the heater core (there is a leak in the passenger side compartment) but now need to tie the two together.
I was thinking some 5/8 aluminum or copper U shaped fitting would be best but wondered what the people have done this use?

Ha, I just did this last week on my mom's 1994 Grand Am, heater core was leaking, and don't need heat now, I got cheap and bought a Prestone flush n fill kit at walmart, under 4 bucks.
I used one of the T fittings to splice the 2 hoses together until next fall to put a heater core in, or just leave it like this.
Of course one hose was a little bigger than the other, I used the T fitting that fit the smaller hose best, clamped the bigger hose first then pushed the other hose on, both hoses are kinda kinked and were not real easy to go together, however now the car does not leak coolant, and the coolant temperature is just fine.

Thanks! The only thing is with our Vettes we have to plug the hole on the bottom of the overflow tank. I'll look into that...wondering what I should do to plug that though
So, if there is a issue of the hose going to the overflow tank, maybe buy that U shaped hose, and the Prestone flush n fill kit, connect the U hose to your heater hoses (near the heater core) with the 2 tees that fit each hose.
Kit come with 2 hose clamps, so buy 2 more clamps for the job.

This hose is available on E-bay for $12. It's U shaped with one 5/8" end and one 3/4" end which fits the LS pump perfectly.
Thanks for the input guys. That U shaped coolant hose WOULD work if we didn't have the over flow tank. I ended up with a 90 degree brass fitting from lowes for $3. I'll take pics tomorrow to help out others with this issue
ok here are the pics i promised. THe hope is that this helps someone else whether its temporary or a permanent fix.
As you can see in the first pic one of the coolant lines comes right off the water pump area to the over flow tank, then off to the heater core
This picture shows the heater core inlet and outlet. Hard to see but I put rubber stops and wrapped it in electrical tape for the time being
Lastly this is the 3/4inch 90 degree adapter I bought at Lowes for a few bucks. Fit snugly and the clamps tightly grasped it. So far no leaks but if it does i'll probably buy some better clamps if it does indeed leak.
