As you can see it's a greenish yellow liquid and definitely oily. (I thought Dexron was red, does it change color when aged on my tranny exterior). It's where the rear of the tranny seal meets the rear differential and a slight amount on the front of the tranny ... no puddling on the floor, and looks clear on a newspaper, does not smell like rear end fluid. (just a few oil stains on the floor over the years) ... top of the tranny and rear of the dif is clean & dry - over the years most of it coated the leaf spring. Front of the car is clean & dry.
Any comments as to why and how to fix ...
I'm thinking it is not worth pulling the tranny (with everything else) and just keeping it topped off (?) unless it gets worse ...
I think if I had that leak I would be tempted to scuff the area that is leaking, clean it with a recommended cleaner and put some JB weld or some like product to seal it up from the outside...
