Check Engine LIght after Halltech T1
Its been a few days since I finished the intake install, put about 200 miles on the car, and today the Check Engine Light came on.. Can anyone please shed some light on this. I am enjoying the intake sooo much. Please respond.. Thanks

Hmm weird, here is what it is Loss of Communications with LDCM (LDCM Left Door Control module) maybe someone can elaborate! The only codes I ever got with the Halltech were P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean bank 1-BP0174 Fuel Trim System Lean bank 2-B
Re: Check Engine LIght after Halltech T1 (My12secz06)
ahh i see why my light stayed on... went to the store to get some medicine, and did the check again, and say i did have a code left over it was one of the 0171, 0174... i believe it was the 0171 as i was so concerned to get rid of the check engine light hehe.
What do I do now that I am runnning lean
P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean bank 1-B
P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean bank 2-B
???
Intake was installed, it has the race filter, and the little breather filter on the tube, everything looks tight and was tight on install.

please respond, and thanks for the help earlier..

Re: Check Engine LIght after Halltech T1 (My12secz06)
After 7000 miles on my hALLTECH sIDEWINDER I got the P1074 code. The weird part is that it comes and goes, Check Engine light that is. Took it to the dealer and they said they could not find a problem. So here is what we are going to . When it goes on again, I will go straight to the dealer and they will plug in their diagnostic computer and we shall see whats going on.
We discussed what changed in the last few weeks and the only difference was that I started using 76 brand gas rather than my usual Hess. It is possible a different combustion rate in the gas could throw the o2 snesors off. So I am doing an experiment. I will report when I get some results.
In my case, the out of tolerance condition seems to be just on the edge. I would hate to give up my Sidewinder, but I also don't want to blow holes in the pistons,

Your fuel trims are probably through the roof. The car is surely losing power at WOT high RPM.
Make sure the intake is making a tight seal. The T1 can fall off the MAF quite easily.
Make sure you have the elbow after the MAF installed correctly. The elbow's long radius section must go before the MAF. If you put the short radius in front of the MAF there is a gap created at the mouth of the MAF, which sends airflow in reversion. This is not listed in the instruction sheet.
Reset the code and pull the batt cable for a few minutes. If the code returns then either you still have an air leak or you need tuning.

I am with Ross on this. USUALLY a code means you have a leak and are getting unmetered air after the MAF causing a lean condition. Metered air will be adjusted by the ECM according to what the ECM see's.

The T-1 is causing the lean conditions of up to 25% that is why the code came up. It may be a leak, but I have seen numerous posts about he same problem.
