I have a friend with a C5 convertible, 2003 I believe. He is on a budget and wants a better sound from his exhaust. He was told that there are no muffler replacements for that generation. Is that true ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just do a search here using something like exhaust systems,C5 mufflers or the like and you will find thousands of threads on the topic. Virtually every manufacturer you can think of and some you never heard of make them. Mid America Motor works carries quite a few as well as places like Sumit and Jegs. There is a broad spectrum of sound from Mild to wild so do research.

He has gotten some really bad info. He can choose from manufacturers like Corsa, Borla, B&B, and Magnaflow just to name a few.

I suggest he STOP listening to however told him that,,, and he start listening to other C5 corvettes at car shows, club meets, etc... until he hears something he really likes and then try to duplicate they're system.
