Default Trustworthy/reasonable Mechanic in Minnesota

Hi I live a little north of St. Paul, Minnesota. The clutch in my C5 is on its last leg. I'm wondering who I can trust to take care of my girl without robbing me as well? Any input with experience would be great thanks!

Most of us, when we need an outside hand, don't mind spending the $ if we can't do it ourselves. We do mind spending the bucks at a stealership and having a poor job done.

I found one online a few years ago in East St Paul. Can't remember the name and I can't find it anymore.

I never had any problem dealing with the local Chevy dealership working on my C3 when I needed some A/C and other work done. Their prices were the about same as the small shops, they always had experienced techs, they did a good job and stood by their work. I have found that independent shops can screw you over just as easy as the dealers.

I see from your profile it's a 99... is it stock?
If your interested in a DIY... you need to do some research in the Tech forum and see what all is involved... and decisions you want to make on replacement parts. LOTS of info to wade thru... some very knowledgeable guys that have had tons of experience with both stock and aftermarket clutch setups.... including slaves, masters, throw out bearings, and remote bleeders..
Depends on how you drive the car to....DD or track car. HP and lots of dynamics involved..
It is a DIY project from what I've seen if your fairly good as a shade tree mech.

You need to go to the Tech section.... Neutron82... Zig... Bill Curlee... the list goes on with VERY knowledgeable guys that have "been there, done that" like most things associated with the C5... there is more to it, than the average car. You'll want to hear what they have to offer

I would start my thread something like... Considering clutch upgrade help please

I agree that Boos Performance is probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to working on Corvettes and is a place that I would start with for your car.
There's a place in St. Paul that is also very good with Corvettes and other high performance/specialty cars. Lancer Auto Care is located downtown on 8th Street.
A third place not far from you is Stillwater Motors. They put a lot of emphasis on Corvettes and high performance cars and sponsor the St. Croix Valley Corvette Club.
All might be worth a call relative to comparing pricing and expertise!
Good luck.
Where are you located north of St. Paul?

Call Lancer Service in downtown St Paul ask for Carl he's one of the best LS-x mechanics in town.
