I've been searching around for a few months, was looking at some C3's and C5's and couldn't decide. I've always loved the styling of the C3 but obviously like the modern feel (and economy) of the C5. Picked up this 2001 convertible 1SC, 6 speed manual, from BuyAVette in Atlanta and had them ship it up, and I can say it was a great experience.
My two year old giving it the once over, she approved
even got her helmet out to go for a ride in daddy's new car

Beautiful car! Enjoy your daughter now because they grow up all too quickly. She'll be asking to drive it to high school before you know it. My "little girl" will be 37-years old this year and it seems just like yesterday she was your daughter's age.
Congrats...glad she approved! Just a couple of things...
You need to find out if any previous owner had the LMC5 module installed to prevent the notorious Column Lock issue...
It's also very nice to get the CAG's skip shift delete, so you can shift from 1st to 2nd anytime you feel like it...
both parts can be purchased at Compliance Parts and are simple DIY.

Yes, they do. My oldest, she's 15. Insurance said even if she has her own policy is excluded, she won't drive the car

I will definitely check into the LMC5 module, I've read a bit on it but haven't checked it over that closely yet.
Very nice looking C5. But then-I have a weakness for TR convertibles!
Could you tell us the name of the shipper and how much it cost to ship from Georgia to Michigan? Did the shipper just transport your car by itself all of the way from Georgia?

I was referred by BuyAVette to a company called Nationwide, who was just a broker, and subbed the job out to Triple H Haulers (I think was the name). Total cost for delivery from Atlanta to my house in Cedar Springs was $850. I'm not sure if it was the only car he transported, but I can only assume he had a couple to make the trip more worth it. $150 to the broker, $700 to the driver

Seems like a reasonable price. How long did it take them to get the Corvette to your driveway?
