[Z06] Optic Vs. Les at the Dyno
Both cars are 02's, both have Vararam (so the power numbers are understated), both have long tube headers (his are TPIS, mine FLP), he has an underdrive pulley, I ran without cats and I have roller rockers and stronger valve springs (though they made zero power when installed).
Bottom line, and it KILLS me to admit this - Optic won :( He made exactly 1 more RWHP (381.1 Vs. 382.1) and nearly 7 more RWTQ to my 362.2. The torque difference could be the longer headers that he has, the pulley, or the off-road pipe hurting me, I will test mine with the cats back on later.
This is my first time on this particular dyno, others tell me it reads 5-10 RWHP less than the one that I usually test with. When I go back to test with the cats on and off I will be able to compare then.
Bottom line is I was hoping for 385, not unhappy with 381.1, which allowing for 15% power train loss means 448.3 at the crank - not shabby! Plus the power curve looks much better now, so I can't wait to get to the track :)
Optic - time for the rematch at Commerce :)

Your strategy you talked about in Off Topic must have worked. Pretty sneaky filling up Les' car with low octane fuel when he wasn't looking!
