So being at 630 rwhp with my supercharger setup and still running the stock LS6 clutch at 54,000 miles i am waning to upgrade and i have narrowed it down to two option's either the Mcleod 6912-07 RST Street Twin or the katech LS9X twin disk setup..both are about the same price just not sure which would better..car will mostly be street driven with maybe a track day maybe.. thanks Ryan
I run the RXT Twin in my built C5Z.... It is butter smooth whether I am racing it @ a 1/2 mi event or simply cruising... It is simply the nicest clutch I have ever run. I am making 688/718 to the wheels and it laugh's @ the power....

630 on the stock C5 z06 clutch is saying something.. How long have you been running that combo?
I have the mantic 9000. It is a nice clutch, no doubt. They make 2 sets of disc's for it, a full face organic i think, i believe good for like 650 ftlbs. The one ecs normally sells, and that i have, that will hold 1000ish. At first i was concerned, but the 1000ftlb one is very easy to street drive. I assume the organic one would be even easier.
we have the mantic clutches also but the rst is tried and true. it has never failed to impress me and ive installed well more than any other clutch. every customer is pleased. mantic is new to the game but a good choice as well. any of you guys looking for a clutch email me at tech.support@coloradospeed.com and ill get you set up.
do you stock the rst clutch's up there at your shop..i am not too far from you
I am not of a skill set to provide clutch advice, but I am currently using the RST twin with a steel flywheel , and am not selling anything. My 03 convertible is stock, and street drives normally in every way with fine modulation on hills and such. It rattles a bit at the light at times, I think that came with age, and if it bothers me , I cycle the pedal and the noise stops.
All the following content is an exciting free bonus , if you don't mind wasting time.
My buying decision was influenced before I got the car, which I happened to get for low money because of ----clutch noise. I was watch a TV report from the SEMA show, and McCloed was introducing a product and brought out the old guy with his name on the company. Said he was a lifetime clutch guy , found he had a way with power transfer and stuck with it his entire working life. He was introduced as a hot rod pioneer and the name of the product reflects his experience with working situations. All his products are red, he stated, so the other guys can see and identify his products, the RST being the red street twin.
I figured the industry was mature, clutches are well understood, so it would be just a matter of staying away from the race stuff. Given my skill set, I went with the most conservative choice . I wanted an easy pedal , something I could enjoy owning (?), and as close to a straight nuts and bolts design as I could find, it would be a paid install.
THe company had a useful help line, the product was rebuildable, and somewhat local , even though I bought it out of the area, from a supporting vender . The price point was the final buying trigger.
