Default trim around drivers window

I am sure this has been beaten to death and my search skills suck so here goes. The black plastic trim piece around my drivers side window outside the car is cracked in 2 places. The dealer who does some factory work on my car is telling me chevy no longer makes that part, which I find hard to believe on a 2001 zo6. The dealer also said if I can find it in the aftermarket it is 2 1/2 hours of labor to replace. SO anyone have experience with this piece?

1) where can I find the replacement piece?
2) how much is reasonable to pay to have it replaced.

Thanks all.

If in fact the piece is no longer available from GM, you might want to try one of the forum vendors that deal in used parts. Marc at VetteNuts or the folks at Corvette Recycling would be two places to check with.

That is no longer true. They (left and right) have recently become available through GM again. I just bought a set a couple of weeks back and posted the part numbers.

I don't have the receipt handy, so now I've gotta go digging for that post for you......

back in a bit.

oh, 2.5 hours is reasonable for a good job. It is important not to overtighten them or you will dimple them and cause a leak with your new parts. It's also easy to pinch the rubber trim of you are hurrying. Going slowly and doing it right takes time.
