I've just purchased my 2nd Vette (2002 Convert, black/black) and would like to upgrade the sound system to include nav and Bluetooth. Anyone have any experience with this?

Contact Dennis at Double D Mods. He can answer all of your questions.
I got my Double D upgrade 18 months ago for my 04 CE. It's a Kenwood model and has been a pleasure to use, and installation wasn't horrendous either. Dennis was there to guide me through a few questions, so kudos to DD!
Install is easy, just take your time doing it, you can actually do your wiring at the kitchen table and walk outside and plug everything in, there are tons of threads on this that will help.
Calling Dinnis will be the first step though.

Black/Black 2002 Z51 Coupe here. Started my upgrade a few months ago. Here's the guide I wrote.
:tra inwreck:I had a Kenwood DNX890HD installed - I've had nothing but problems with the Kenwood product and the NAV system. Im in the midst of having it ripped out of the dash for the second time and sending the unit back to Kenwood. When I asked Kenwood how they were going to make it right this time I was told that they will have me send the unit to a different service center so they have a better chance of getting it right this time.
I've had nothing but BS from Kenwood and will never buy another one of their products. I'm in the market for a new head unit in my other Vette and will not even consider Kenwood.
I will say that my installer in Charlotte did a great day and is don every thing they can to accommodate me.
Dennis set me up with this half leather wrap hydro carbon double din bezel. Have been enjoying it for a little over 2 years now no issues. He has so many options to choose from.

Kenwood is a trainwreck
I would ask them to upgrade the unit to a DX990HD. That's what I have, and it's worked great. Just a thought.

Thanks. Tried that - which is part of the frusturation. They only had one answer and would not consider any other options. I'll be talking to my installer on Tuesday - they rep Kenwood - and see if they can work out anything.

I see. Something about this stinks. Maybe you have to pay the difference between the cost of the two units to get it to happen, but I would think after two units failing they'd be happy to upgrade you.
I got the whole DD double din unit with the shale CE color when I got mine. Works great, especially the NAV with the pictures at the intersections and freeways that show what it looks like IRL on 1/2 of the screen and the graphic of the road on the other.
