Default Hello everybody again

I do not post on here much but would like to meet some people and eventually get down to LG Motorsports in Texas with my 2001 Z06

A little about me, I am a retired and disabled vet. I served active duty for 17 years and have went on 8 deployments overseas ranging from 7 to 9 months including have served in 2 of our countries wars. I am 35 YO and will be 36 in August. I have had C spine surgery a few years ago while on active duty and now the VA is sending me to the University of Michigan for total hip replacements on both left and right hips. I tried to stay in longer but my body can barely get me around as I have to walk with a cain.

Some of you's might remember me buying my 3rd vette when I got back from Africa in 2007. It was a 2004 Com ED. ZO6 #1450 of 2025 built. I drove that for 3 years before I traded it for a family vehicle with 3 kids.

Just over a year ago before I retired, I really missed the C5Z I had and looked very hard for something I could afford. I picked up a very low mileage 37K mile 2001 C5Z black/mod red from another forum member in which I flew out to Sacremento, CA and drove it home over a few days cross country trip back to the place I now live at in Northern Michigan. So my Z is garaged at least 6 months out of the year for the late fall, winter, and into the late spring. It is mostly stock with the stock wheels dipped in chrome with chrome C5 center caps, trunk partition, and red ZO6 floor mats.

Next summer my plans are to drive my car to LG motorsports in Texas and stay at a hotel for a few days while they do the work. I am not sure what work I want done yet but I was thinking about the +100 HP package with their cam, intake, heads, and long tube header package. (I hope it sounds awesome with the stock TI. muffler system!!!)

I was also tossing the idea around with a low mileage LS7 install with the same +100 HP package available for an LS7 but I am not sure the stock C5 drive train components would hold up for everyday driving. What else would be needed? or would +100 HP in the LS6 be enough to put a huge smile on my face?

Hope to hear back from you's. I do not want to go with forced induction and would like the engine bay to look stock for the most part, even trimming the fuel rail covers to fit the larger FAST intake. Maybe somebody can chime in or help me out or can get me an even better deal for the same thing elsewhere. If I do end up going to LG, maybe I can meet some new friends in the area during my visit for a few days while they do the installation and dyno tune.

Tom

I am also want to have the interior electronics upgraded. I want to have Bluetooth, Navigation and possibly heated seats if I can find a set of seats that look close to what I have now. I would not mind using an interface from a C6 or C7 if the price is right. with all the hardware and wiring.

Is it possible to get a mild cam with just a considerable amount of more duration and not have to replace the springs every 30K miles?

I was thinking longer duration with only .015 to .020 more lift... What would those results get me?
