My 2010 GS had drilled rotors from the factory and I'm pretty sure the C5 had them at some point.

Default z51 drilled rotors

yes, i believe the 06 model c6 with z51 option was the first year for factory drilled rotors. the c5 never came with drilled rotors, however , three years ago i replaced my rotors and because the rear rotor was so small looking , i went with 07 z51 drilled rotors, which are larger in diameter. they bolt wright up as long as you use the longer caliper bracket. looks great, feels out the wheel. my front rotors are stock size but drilled. ordered all the rotors from brake performance, no complaints here and it looks as if it could have come from the factory. i'm running factory polished thin spoke wheels . these rotors along with led tail lights are among the only mods i've done . i'm pretty much a purest ..............hope this has been helpful to you.

I said I was pretty sure, not positive. If I were certain I wouldn't have come to the C5 section to ask. I've seen several C5's with drilled rotors and asked the obviously misinformed owners if they were stock and some said they believed they were.

Just asking here.

Drilled rotors were never offered on the C5 from the factory as 8VETTE7 mentioned. They were offered on the C6 Z51 models.

I assume by longer caliper bracket, you mean the bracket that would be on the 07 Z51 that the rotors were for? BTW, how much larger are they?

Just razzin ya...we all make mistakes and get misinformed... I think it's some kind of unwritten forum rule to rub it in.

Figure anyone that drives a ZR1 can take a little ribbing...

Only on the C6 Z51 and GS Corvettes did the "Drilled" rotors and have a larger diameter than the base C5/6 rotors - you will need to purchase the brackets to install the C6 Z51 rotors on the C5 (C6 Z06 has them too but are a different larger diameter too)

But the C5 did not come with factory drilled rotors - aftermarket has a ton of them -

Thanks,Matt

Default answer for jackthelad

the caliper bracket needed for the larger 07 z51 rotor would be the stock caliper bracket that comes with 07 z51 caliper/rotor. retain your c5 caliper but otherwise the parts ,for rear, are stock c6 z51 parts. as for the diameter difference , half or one inch, i don't recall , but noticeable even from a distance. if you are in the market for new rotors this is a good mod. if you go the aftermarket two piece rotors you're looking at a substantial investment in money. hope this has answered your questions but if not i'll be glad to help.

Here you go: The factory C5 and C6 "Base" model brakes are the same (Calipers, brackets and rotors) so this kit upgrades both the C5 and C6 Base brakes to the C6 Z51 brakes (rotors and Brackets) you will use your "STOCK" Calipers

http://www.cultragfactoryparts.com/c...c6-z51-brakes/

Little info on sizing:

Corvette Museum website says the non-Z51 front rotors are 12.8 in. in dia. and are 1.26 in. thick, while the rear rotors are 12.0 in. in dia. and 1.0 in. thick.

The Z51 front rotors are 13.4 in. in dia. and are 1.26 in. thick, while the rear rotors are 13.0 in. in dia. and 1.0 in. thick.

Thanks,Matt
