Suggest that you start by checking the battery to insure it is fully charged. A good battery at full charge will measure 12.7 to 12.9 volts or more when measured across the battery posts using a digital multi meter and with the neg battery cable disconnected. DO NOT use the dash gauge readings to determine the state of health of the battery. They show the state of health of the charging system. With engine running they sort of show the output voltage of the alternator. Sort of because the gauges are down stream of the ignition switch and the C5 ignition switch is well known for pitted and carboned contact surfaces that reduce the gauge readings. With engine off and key on there are many electrical circuits in the C5 loading the battery so that reading is all but worthless..
Once you have a known good battery at full charge, clear all the codes that you have and then take the car for a nice ride. When you return pull the codes again BEFORE you shut off the engine. To pull codes with the engine running you MUST first use the reset button to clear all messages in the DIC. Then pull codes as normal.
Codes that have returned are the ones you need to be concerned with.
If you need help with them post then in this thread.
Thanks for the reply, Ill take it for a ride today and see if there are any new codes. I purchased the battery spring 2014 its an Optima Red Top. Hopefully its not bad already!
