I've been around but haven't posted much. Been busy with the house and trying to improve it and haven't had too much time for the C5. The Waze suggestion above is pretty good. I recently downloaded it and it's great on a road trip. Hope you've been doing well other than the ticket!

Honda Pilots can do 160+? I did not know that

That one was 1000hp and NOS sponsored..... yep it was a surprise!

It looked like a brick..... a flying brick, even a twin turbo'd supermodulated, almalgamated, confabulated....box of extreme power applied through little wheels.

I wish cops were more concerned with aggressive drivers and people that barley have enough room to to come into your lane that you have to hit the brakes to either allow them in or give some room between you two. These drivers are way more dangerous then someone cruising even 20mph over the speed limit. Yet they never seem to be bothered only speeders.

When on the highway i drive my other cars faster then I do the vette. Guess I'm just paranoid. Pulled over on an interstate doing 72 in a 55. The first and only time in 17 years that i have owned this car. Told me more then once how nice the car is.

I was bothered by all kinds of driving, not just speeding. Unfortunately, when you're driving a marked police car with lights on top, people tend to behave a little better. Personally, I think texting and talking on a cell phone create more of a hazard. I'm amazed at the number of people I still see talking on their cell phones, even though it's been against the law here in Illinois for a few years. What troubles me even more is that most of the people I see are driving new cars, so you know they have hands-free capability. It's a crazy world we live in and everyone is in a hurry or wants something right now. I see it getting worse before it gets better.

Owning my C5 has actually made me a 'safer driver'.
Seriously!!!
I'm more attentive to the IDIOCY of the other drivers.
Those little coffee can muffler two dollar beater boxes driven by some fool out to impress the Corvette.
And it happens all the time.
I usually take the left lane and move over for the guys and gals who are in that HURRY and need to move up ONE MORE SPACE.
Had more than one get pissed because I wasn't right up the **** of the guy in front of me.
I just scoot over a lane or two and let 'em have at it.
Couple of times I've actually gotten as far away from them as possible because their driving screams "Pending Disaster".
As for LEO, I get great responses. Sometimes a wave.
Honest Injun.

back in 02 I was on I80 going to Iowa, doing 80mph in a 55 zone (road was dead) I seen him coming at me he hit his lights just as we passed so I pulled over since I was the only car, he pulled in the the center grass to turn around so fast as he pulled out his front wheels was off the ground (I was parked watching by this time) roasting tires sliding sideways he actually passed me locked up and backed up to get behind me (I was laughing so hard tears was coming out of my eyes) had my license and registration in my hand waiting i was doing my best not to laugh failed miserably he was up set boy! I told him i'm sorry i pulled over as soon as you turned your lights on you hit and came out of the center like I running, he kept me there for an hour looking for any thing else to ticket but i was in a 10 day old dodge ram with 500 miles on it, he finally came to my window with my ticket (by this time i was the upset one) started to lecture me I simple told him i'm not getting lectured if i'm getting a ticket he persisted and I told him again if i'm getting a ticket give it to me and i'll be on my way theres no law that say i have to get a lecture! you want to lecture me void the ticket and ill sit here till your mouth runs dry he gave me my ticket i pulled away as he was talking

I totally under stand there just doing what they get paid to do, I was wrong for speeding but I was parked before he even turned around, a cop pulling you over and he passes you and backs up how are you not going to laugh?

we all have jobs but "some" think that badge makes them "above the law" dont get me wrong I've met a bunch of nice LEO, but this one well...

As a current law enforcement officer, here's my $.02, 1. 9 you're fine, 10 you're mine. Doesn't mean you're going to get a ticket, just means we are going to meet. 2. If I am going to lecture, you are ticket free. Never both. 3. I DO NOT KNOW, if you are going to get a ticket until after we "meet". Your attitude determines your fate. I have written for 10 MPH over the limit and have let 25 over the limit off with a warning. (Officer discretion). 4. Like posted above, vehicles don't catch my attention, their speed does. 5. I ALWAYS error on the side of caution, and more times than not, you'll get a warning. Traffic court sucks as much for me as it does you. Trust me. 6. With technology today, I can activate my radar, lock your speed, and turn my radar off before your detector ever makes a sound. (I've had to prove this more than once and have been happy to do so). 7. IF* you have a visible radar detector, this tells me that you are a habitual speeder and increases your chances of a ticket. 8. That is all, thanks for listening and happy motoring.

Another thing to keep in mind (for me) is speedo's are allowed to be off +/- a M.P.H. or two. Also, even though our radar's are calibrated every year and I have never seen one even a M.P.H. off, they are allowed a +/- of a M.P.H. as well. Like I said, with all the variables, I always allow WAY more than I should, when it comes to speeding.

Thanks for the info

. I haven't gotten a ticket in 40 years but have been stopped quite a few times. I always try to have a good attitude, never deny I was speeding and am extremely polite.

I'm always nice to Officers, if they pull me over I gave them a reason too 95% of the time, I was once pulled for not wearing a seat belt but i was wearing it and got lectured for not wearing it

any one who serves and protects gets my respect, only a very few times did I ever get rude with an officer.

This is so true, that's why I try to be as nice as possible and 9 out of 10 I'm let go. That's why I said I was guilty of speeding and he was doing his job, I wasn't going to let it ruin my day either. Everyone have a great and safe weekend, L8R ZFLASH

That's why I keep telling my friends with radar detectors they are wasting their money. But they know better.
#7. Wonder why you need a radar detector if you're not going over the speed limit? You're basically telling the officer "I am speeding but I have this detector so I won't get caught"

Working in a jurisdiction of less than 20,000, I given more verbal & written warnings than actually tickets. I have always felt pointing the mistake(s) that were made and the motorist is receptive to our interaction, I've done my job by enforcing the laws.
It's habitual problem causing citizens that don't benefit.
