1997 Automatically locks without engaging

1997 Automatically locks without engaging
My car just started to automatically lock on it's own. With key fob in pocket while walking around the car the horn will honk on it's own. I have held down both lock and unlock buttons on fob but that doesn't seem to stop the problem. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure that the slide switch (located below the horn & rear hatch release buttons) is slid to the left side under the horn button. Slide the switch back and forth a few times to swipe the contacts clean.

Assuming your C5 is one of the earlier model years (1997-2000) with the Passive Lock option.
Check to make sure that the slide switch (located below the horn & rear hatch release buttons) is slid to the left side under the horn button. Slide the switch back and forth a few times to swipe the contacts clean.
