c5 manual trunk release 2000
Checked my owners manual and it says there are two cords to pull, one in each storage compartment in the rear of the car.. Opened them up.. nothing there. One of the release locks is screwed up so I cant get my hatch open.. Anyone know what to do? Car is a 2000 coupe.

The manual does say that is where the emergency release is located. Pehaps over the years the end of the cable that is supposed to be visible has fallen behind the liner of the storage compartment. Might want to see if you can get the liner to come loose and then locate the release cable.
