I'm ready to sell my 2000 Convertible. Everything pretty basic except a few upgrades - Selective Real Time Damping, polished alum wheel, 6 speed manual, sport seats, active handling, head up display etc. Just the normal upgrades that made this Convertible $52000 when it sold new.
Everything is in pristine condition, except that I added a Sony head unit to be able to use iPod, Sirius, etc. but I do have original unit ready to snap in if someone wanted.
The advice I need is how much should I be listing my car for with 46000 miles? I see a LOT of real generous sellers out there as well as some sellers who are off their rocker. I'd like to get someone's attention with the price without taking a bath on it.

Thanks,

Ask $16,000, expect $14,000 or a bit less.
Low mileage = a plus
pre 2001 - a big minus for knowledgeable buyers.

I don't think you're seeing people who are "generous". What you're seeing is that C5 prices are very realistically taking quite a bit of a hit in the past year or so, and the other end of the spectrum is the people "off their rocker" are those individuals that can't accept this occurrence (likely because they just recently purchased a C5 or simply cannot think of even higher end non-Z06 cars going below $20k). With what you described, I would say you could really easily start around $17,000-$18,000 but don't be surprised if you sit on it for a bit or are willing to take a hit. You're for sure going to get so many low-ballers it'll make you sick.
At this point if you're expecting well above $20k+ that train has done come and left the station. The convertible/six speed combo is something desirable with that sort of mileage. But the ultimate issue is - as mentioned in the post above - that you'll be dealing with the notion of having a pre-2001 six speed; issues with the EBCMs and such which are really hitting '97s-00s a bit hard price-wise in the inability to easily service them without searching for very expensive used replacements. I would also be pretty honest about any issues you may have had or not had with the column lock recalls in terms of if it's given you EBCM issues (if you've installed an aftermarket CLB like the LMC5 or not). Those are going to be issues that a subsequent owner may have to address.
Regardless of any of my or others' opinions best of luck.
I have found NADA to be accurate both here in New England and in SW Florida. Clean trade in with the low mileage is $16k and clean retail is just under $20k. You should get close to that this time of year especially since the car is unmolested without aftermarket mods. Good Luck!

I sold my 2000 vert nearly two years ago for $20k. It had 43,000 miles on the clock. I would ask $19k-$20k, and settle for $17k. Patience almost always pays.
I've spent a bunch of time, at least a month daily checking out other ads to see where they're at. You are all in the ballpark. I was hardly expecting $20K - too many 2000 C5s out there for that with half the mileage. I'm not in a have to sell frame of mind so I'll let patience play her part in this one while I drive and continue to enjoy it.

Times have changed, and C6 prices have been declining to C5 territory of a short time ago. Unless there is someone looking specifically for a vert C5 don't expect miracles.
Go to the websites where you're going to list your car. Look at the competition and price accordingly. Put the dollar amount you're asking in the search section of the site(s) and see what comes up. Might want to check $1K or $2K over what your planning too list at to see the competition. You've got low mileage, a vert and an M6 on your side, pre-01 is a negative. I'd be sure to put the OEM radio goes with the car (and offer to re-install it). Take many pics of the complete car. I always wonder about a car that has only 5 or 6 pics when the pros post 4 or 5 pages of pics.

on the pics. Take a look at some of the car magazines at your local bookstore. Look at the lighting, angles, and settings of the cars featured in the articles. Try to match those pics with your car and take plenty.
It might be worth your time and money to have a professional detailer spruce her up too. If yours shines like a new penny compared to the one down the street then you will win
I will be looking in Arizona after my house sells and we move there. I just did a search for 98-2001 convertibles on Mohave County Craigslist and nearby areas and came up with about a dozen for sale. The prices and options and miles varied but the asking prices seem to average around $15,000. Once again, your transmission and low mileage helps.

Don't put the stock radio back in. That's stupid. That's one of the mods that will help sell the car. You can't give those Delco head units away. Trust me. Reinstall it?! Give me a break. It's not like it's a Wonderbar radio. You know, worth something.
As others have said, I'd start at $20k and work your way down. Remember, you can't raise the price you can only lower it. Don't sell yourself short listing it at $16k, someone may be willing pay at least $18k for it and you're eliminating them right off the bat. Try starting at $20k, then lower it in $500 increments every 1-2 weeks until it sells (wait longer to lower if you're willing). June is a perfect month to sell a Vette. You'll eventually find that sweet spot where you get calls and then boom it's gone.

I am one who disagrees with you. Any car I looked at that had an aftermarket radio, I just walked away. The factory radio is just fine for some of us.
