I had yesterday off from the orange stripe box store. Phoenix hit 114-115 by early afternoon. I had recently drained radiator and filled with 50/50 dexcool and purified water. I also have made up a wand out of 1/2" cpvc with a 90 degree bend at top with a pvc quarter turn valve and garden hose connection. Fits right between radiator and condenser. Blew out the radiator and condenser at the same time as coolant change. 2004 six speed coupe with 16,400 on the clock. Decided yesterday would be a good test of a stock cooling system with no changes. Proceeded to do all my errands and shopping, all in town, stop and go driving. Had the ac set at 70, blew real cold and the coolant temp never went over 207, oil temp stayed at 217. Pretty pleased with the results. I was going to purchase an aftermarket radiator after reading here about problems running on the warm side, but might pass for now.
Only under hood mods are an Elite catch can and a Callaway Honker CAI.
Right happy camper

Our cooling systems - - home, work, shopping and autos--will certainly be put to the test this week along with cabin filters to address the smoke from the recent fires.
Sounds like your car is running well, at least coolant wise.
Car has been very solid. Purchased 10/13 with 11,700 on the clock. Replaced trans and rear end fluid with Royal Purple at 12,500. Engine oil with syntech. Royal purple going in next. Pulls 31-32 on the highway, cannot set ac below 69 or 70. Will freeze you out. Everything works as it should. Never has thrown a code. MY with light gray interior. Fully optioned out car except for the polished version five spoke wheels.
Mine didn't fare as well as yours. Was fine moving but as mentioned in my other thread, it got to 260 oil. I think I need to do the blow out the radiator thing.
I live in the hottest spot on planet earth .a normal summer day is 47-50c (116-122f) and sometimes it reaches 131f-140 (55c-60c) dash temp gauge around 200f 114-115f bellow
the operating temp usually when u turn the ign it reads 113 or so .. it all comes how to treat your car
Interesting I am in Tucson. My car has an ecs blower full exhaust as stock cooling. The car got to 225 coolant and 225 oil with the ac blowing in stop and go traffic. Not terribly hot but I am going to definitely try the radiator clean out.
I recently purchased a low mileage '03 and was amazed at the debris and leaves shoved up in the radiator. If it wasn't on a lift I would have never seen it.
Here's what mine looks like. Haven't had it out yet this summer. Usually runs around the 200 mark or so though with the a/c on. Might have to take it to work tonight to give it some exersize. Glad to hear others are having good luck with the temps the way they are.
