WOW posts on MPG by shifting or the AC on or using regular fuel !!!!!!!! I don't know about the rest of you but I didn't buy my C 5 as an economy car !!!!!! All though I was surprised by the the mileage and I like it, I bought it for a Corvette. I drive the crap out of mine to the floor on almost every on ramp, running in 5th at highway speeds on occasion(in heavy traffic) I don't like to bog it. Now all that said I do average 26 mpg,and that is not by the DIC and my speedo is off 2 mph at 75 (slower)
To each his own, but I would agree that running this car on incorrect fuel is idiotic.
I guess I will have to drive faster, I get only about 15 mpg around town.
Most performance discussions require efficient gas burn to be brought into the conversation at some point, so I never object to fuel conservation in discussion, even though I am not into big speed on the street, or anywhere else, for that matter. When you get old, damage repair takes a lot longer, and the repairs are never as good as it used to be. Fear of broken bones aside, efficiency is power.

Sounds about right, although I've found it matters little whether I putter around like a grandmother in a Cadillac or blast from stoplight to stoplight.
Ditto for freeway, where steady at 60-65 gets about the same (high 20's) as 75-80.
I bought my Corvettes as performance cars. I have modified most of them to be a little faster and corner better too.
However, I want it all. I want a good running sports/muscle car but I am also happy that it does so well for mileage. Where I am at now, it runs in the 12's and still gets over 30 mpg on a trip. That is a win-win to me.

I don't beat on my Corvette every time I get in the car, and do enjoy getting very good gas mileage when I'm out cruising around. That's not to say I don't enjoy pushing the car a bit at times - and the gas mileage definitely goes down.
