I really appreciate all the comments and opinions. I know some will see a variance from the stock OEM colors as not something they would do and that's fine.

I am not worried about resale value as this is probably my last Vette and if I do get another it would be added to the stable not traded for this one.

I also think color choices are a personal matter and I was just looking for some feed back, but the choice is ultimately mine to make, However it is nice to hear other ideas, like the plastidip or alternative colors and the like.

I don't think that all owners would change their colors, but given the opportunity to make their C5 unique I believe there would be more than a few who would choose to do so and even pick a similar color.

So I am trying to find a way to use a photo shop type application where I could "see" a C5 in this color. Any ideas are welcome, pro and con. I take no offense at any opinion.

Unless I was doing a touch up there is no way I'd paint the car an OEM color. I'm not particularly fond of the burnt copper look right now, maybe 5 years ago it OK before everyone started putting it on every SUV. I've got a 06 FX35 that has a similar color with similar color interior that you have selected.

Personally, I think a deep wine color would look great with your interior color choice or a dark pearl gray. I'd want it to look understated enough that the unwashed would ask if it was an OEM color, but vette folks would definitely know it wasn't.

This isn't an old split window car that's rare and valuable despite being crappy, it's a f***ing c5 in the most common color they made, that's brilliant to drive, and great to look at, but isn't valuable in the sense that a split window car is.

Plus how is this post "beating a dead horse" in any way? I've never seen anyone else ask about that color. The only way it's beating a dead horse is that you chose to ignore his question and instead answer the way you did.

This.

I like the color. +1 for being different. I kinda want to change the color of mine.

Default I've Thought About Aztec Gold . . .

But with a color of that nature you might consider getting it done via plasti dip that way you could try it out and if you didn't like it you could remove it at any time without a trace. Just a thought (and thousands cheaper than paint)

Just my 2 cents.
. . . which I believe was a fine metallic color, right? Call me old school but I think the bronze would really pop with a medium metal flake . . . careful not to over do it. It would need some well placed black highlights that fade into the bronze. That would take some trial and error and a lot of thought as to placement of the highlights. I don't know that I would just paint defined items, like mirrors, in black. I'd definitely put at least three or more clear coats over the whole thing. Bronze is a good color but it needs to be classy. Black highlights should be gloss. But, I've just got this picture in my head that's hard to describe. It is a sports car and there are a lot of traditional colors that beg to be combined with black and even a touch of a third color. I favor the C7s in yellow with defined pieces highlighted in black and . . . I can't remember where but there was red added as a stripe or something and the whole thing was both beautiful and intimidating at the same time.

It would not be my first choice, but it should look nice.

I fell in love with this "Gold Rush" C6 on first sight. Never would have the cash for that kinda paint but food for thought. The color you are looking at seems great too though OP.

I'm thinking ... zero.
If I had a black or silver c5 and the means to change it to another color I would love that color. Personally if I were changing color I would go with nissan black cherry. Mmmm

Many years ago I owned a 911 with a full cork interior. It was so beautiful that when I showed the car to my wife, she told me to buy it. The exterior was black, a gorgeous combination! I was thinking of Audi Phantom Black for your car, it's a very subtle metallic black. We had an A4 in that color, really nice in the sun. Black and cork together, great combo!
