First year..the real cost
I found it on a funky vegas used car lot, here's the short version..I had no credit but I did have a few grand stashed away.. no prob "We-Tote-The Note"...well WTH next thing I know I'm driving a C5 off the lot..!! OK I didn't hardly get it home, the trans blew. Got lucky and the dealership had the trans replaced for me. (whew)
Since then (besides make the pmts) in the first year I've put almost 3000 mi on the Beast and managed to plow through the following items:
Hood struts
Installed the correct factory stereo/CD
New battery
Replaced turn sig sockets and NOS Headlamp motors.
New cam and lifters, sensors (block and heads looked fresh, radiator looks new)
Complete tune/service.
Shifter cable replaced.
Next..??
Well a few more little things still need fixed, I want to add a few accessories and I'm finally ready for some new shocks, but finally I feel like at this point the car is basically solid dependable and ready to be driven anywhere.
On paper it doesn't look like that much, but I've had to spread out the cost of repairs as I don't do my own wrenchin'.
I'll be buried to the hilt for sure when I'm done, but hey what a ride.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

The otherside rocker was damaged by a mech's jack handle, grrrr!
I plan on restoring both sides and getting a pair of those rocker panel protection things.
