Default Got some new kicks - CF5

Howdy all,

Finally received and installed my Forgestar CF5's. Went up a size to 18 and 19. Thought you all might want to take a look. I know some aren't fond of black, but I thought it went well with the pewter. Thanks to Eric at Get Your Wheels for a smooth transaction. Now I have to do something about those ugly brakes.

Patrick

Yeah, sure would, but I'm gun shy about that with our shi**y roads. I need all the ground clearance I can get. The 18 and 19 do help a bit to fill in the wheel wells. Oh how I wish to be down south or anywhere else with real roads…

While I'm not really a fan of black wheels, I do like that style and the black does go well with the pewter exterior.

Looks Good.

You stated you wanted to clean up the brake area. I think with the colors you have, going with black rotor hats and black calipers with white lettering would look good. Just subtle enough.

I live in NW Jersey for many years now and my Z is lowered to the max on stock bolts. Almost daily driven all over the state since new. I've had no problems due to being low, just have to be careful and observant when driving and you'll be fine. Looks too good to be raised back up.

I'm not usually a fan of black wheels either but I actually like the looks of them on yours! Nice.

And as for:

Very nice! I plan on eventually getting some Forgestars. I probably will go with the Gunmetal color.
I know what you mean about lowering. I wish I could lower mine too but the roads in my area are extremely bad and I already have scraping problems at stock height.

Thanks,

That's what I was thinking re: brakes. Although I may keep the lettering in aluminum. Can I paint the hats I have until I get new rotors?

Nice to hear from a fellow Jersian (?) I'm waiting for them to finish the cluster that is called Rt. 80 right now. (stupid pavement grinding) Also I have some rather steep approaches that I need to navigate, like parking garages, that I'm concerned about. But, I do agree the lowering looks better so maybe I'll consider a bit.

Agreed, nice choice! I am a fan of the simple/clean 5 spoke look. Your car looks great but agree it would look much nicer if it was lowered. I'm down on aftermarket bolts and don't really have any issues. I'm in Chicago and have driven coast to coast without any problems:

Weird. My name is Patrick also.

Yes, you can paint the hats. OR get unfinished rotor hat covers and paint them black. Because of the look I was going for, I have chrome rotor hat covers.
