Default The side skirt thread

I have had a ACI front splitter for years now and I think it is time to add some side skirts. I bought the splitter at the national 50th anniv show.

It appears there are lots of options now vs back then. I am looking for pics, fitment issues carbon fiber, duraflex/abs, fiberglass etc

Nice collection of pics, kinda flattered to see mine in there! Here are a few good shots of the carbon zr skirts from corvette creationz. Look and fitment was good, I did lose a bit of clearance though. I'll graze them every now and then on driveways that I didn't have to worry about. IMO they add such a great look to the car when matched with a front lip/spoiler

adding side skirts does it create more of a problem using floor jacks etc? close up pics of the piece that goes up the fender

I'm assuming it can...which is why some vendors are selling taller pucks for jacking with side skirts. Abel Chev just worked on my car and had no issues with standard sized pucks however. Skirts came out unscathed.

LOL, worth the investment as in:

- They'll make me look so stealth, cops won't even notice me as I speed by at 120mph?
- They'll shave off 2 seconds per lap with improved aerodynamics?
- Girls will like them so much they'll throw their panties at me as I drive by?

I'm being silly but only you can determine what you're after...and if they're worth the investment.

As far as the looks, I wasn't sure at first but now I love them. IMO, they were worth it.

I LOVE your car.^^

Here's some more images of our ZR edition carbon skirts:

And I agree, when matched with a carbon lip or other carbon accent it takes the car to another level.

Regular side skirts fit my ACI ducts with no modifications

After my duraflex broke up and got run over hitting some debris at night on the highway I cut and sectioned a $99.00 ebay real urethane flexible spoiler that won't crack and break, so that it looks almost identical and has better clearance.

5 1/4" ground clearance

How do these skirts (and lips) typically install?

Are there existing holes on the car that are used with speednuts, or is drilling required?

I'm not afraid of drilling on a car, just not this C5 as it's going to stay in the family and go back to stock someday.
